Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Providing an environment free from sexual discrimination is of the highest priority for NEIU.

Sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and domestic violence are all forms of sexual violence and are not tolerated at NEIU. Preventing and remedying these forms of sexual violence is a campus wide responsibility, led by the University’s Title IX Office and K(NO)W More team. The Title IX Office oversees the implementation and enforcement of the appropriate policy requirements in the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. This policy provides extensive guidance on Title IX reporting, investigation/hearing procedures and institutional requirements. In addition, NEIU is deeply committed to eliminating sexual discrimination through training and educational programs. The K(NO)W More team has developed training programs specifically created for the NEIU community. For more information on requesting a program for your group or office, see How Do I Get Involved?.
