Pre-Law Student Organizations

As a future attorney, you will be a leader with your clients, staff, colleagues and in your community. Get involved on campus through student government, honors programs or that are related to your major or future profession. Try to become an officer in an organization to gain leadership experience. You must take this role seriously though and live up to the commitment you make. You can search all of  to find organizations that are a good fit for you.

Joining pre-law student organizations can be very beneficial for several reasons. It can help you to build networking skills, provide information on the admissions process and LSAT preparation, and other topics related to law school and legal careers. The Pre-Law Society can provide opportunities to gain valuable experience through moot court and other activities that can help you develop the skills you need to succeed in law school and beyond. Student organizations can also provide a support system of like-minded individuals who can offer advice, encouragement and motivation. Here are several student organizations to support students who are planning to go to law school.

Pre-Law Society

The NEIU Pre-Law Society is a student-run club for current NEIU students interested in pursuing law school. The Society offers opportunities to participate in pre-law-related events, hear guest speakers, take practice LSAT exams, moot court and more.

Social Justice Club

We are PEA (the meaning behind PEA is that it is a seed that can grow into anything as long as we take care of it right.)

P- promote social justice
E- enhance our ability/knowledge
A- aware of the issues in order to bring awareness

Student Government Association

The NEIU Student Government Association (SGA) is the governing body acting on behalf of the student body at all NEIU locations. The main goal for members of SGA is to lead with integrity while embracing our diversity to promote an inclusive, cohesive and unified student body. It is the mission of the SGA to be the voice for all students as a collective, and not individual viewpoints, including our own.

The SGA is composed of 3 distinct agglomerating bodies:

  • the Council of Clubs (12 Reps)
  • Justices(4)
  • Senate(20 Senators)

These groups are led by the Executive Board, which is composed of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chief of Staff, Communications & Public Relations Director, the IBHE-SAC (Illinois Board of Higher Education Student Advisor Council) Student Representative and the Student Trustee.

The Council of Clubs is the main body creating, funding and advocating on behalf of organization life at NEIU.

If you are interested in getting involved in SGA, please contact any of the representatives via email for assistance. The Student Government Association gives you the opportunity to interact with your peers while you represent the student body in making decisions that can greatly impact the quality of student life at all NEIU locations both now and in the future!

University Honors Student Association

The central goal of the University Honors Student Association (UHSA) is to strengthen community among the members of the Å·²©ÓÎÏ·¹ÙÍø Illinois University Honors Program and to facilitate a social environment for members to improve their mind and character. In addition, the club also provides academic support and opportunities for civic engagement.
