Masters
General Information
The Chemistry Department at NEIU is well-known in the Chicagoland area for its strong M.S. programs. Many of our graduates go on to successful careers in the pharmaceutical industry or at other teaching institutions. We offer students four Master's degree programs to choose from to best suit their needs.
The General Concentration provides a broad background in all areas of chemistry to prepare students for advanced degree programs or careers in chemical industry. The Separation Science Concentration provides appropriate background for students planning careers in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. The Chemical Education Concentration is designed to serve middle and high school teachers with a bachelor degree in chemistry that have already obtained teacher certification. Graduates of the program will become highly qualified teachers trained in advanced chemistry and science teaching methods. The Business-Oriented Separation Science Concentration is designed to enhance the educational experience of the Separation Science chemist beyond what could be achieved if the Separation Science and the Business Administration were pursued independently. It serves those who would like to advance into management positions in industry.
