Financial Technology, Minor

Financial Technology (FinTech) is a term used to describe the increasing use of technology in the financial services industry. The presence of Blockchain, coupled with technologies such as Big Data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, is materially changing the ways that firms in the financial services industry do business. The field of finance has become far more tech-driven in all of its subdisciplines. A FinTech minor will allow students to gain a thorough understanding of the intersection between finance and technology. The minor will provide students with the opportunity to complete at least 18 credit hours, including the rigorous core coursework of a traditional finance domain, while also developing a solid technical background to complement their finance knowledge.
