
Elementary Education, B.A.
Upon completion of the Elementary Education, B.A. program, students will:
- meet current State of Illinois standards for Elementary Education licensure
- gain knowledge of philosophical and educational principles underlying the teaching of elementary students
- gain knowledge and practice methods of teaching elementary students
- qualify for Elementary Education Endorsement
- complete 200 clock hours in a local school and a student teaching experience
The bachelor's degree in Elementary Education is nationally accredited by the Association for Childhood Education International.
Bilingual Education Endorsement
Candidates in the Elementary Education, B.A. program who want to add a bilingual education endorsement need to pass a , complete one of the clinicals (ELED 328A or ELED 328B) in a bilingual setting, and an 18 credit hour sequence.
Math and Science Concepts Minor
Candidates in the Elementary Education, B.A. program who want to add a minor in Math and Science Concepts need to fulfill the clinical experience requirement in a high-need school and complete the MSTQE program of study.
