Research Interests
For my Ph.D., I worked in Plant Chemical Ecology, specifically looking at plant–insect interactions. My thesis investigated the effects of light on production of antioxidants and plant defensive chemicals and how those interacted with insect herbivores. Since being at NEIU, I have focused on the ecology of prairies, particularly on the effect of fire on prairie communities. Keywords: Prairies, Fire, Ecosystem Dynamics
