Sociology, B.A.

In the Department of Sociology, we do more than study society, we question it, challenge it, and work to change it. Our program equips students with the practical tools to critically examine how power, inequality, and social institutions shape everyday life and how individuals and communities respond with resilience, resistance, and action.

If you are passionate about digging deeper into how the world really works and contributing to social change, you are in the right place. At NEIU, you will explore how systems of power create inequality and how movements, policies, and everyday people push back to create a more just and equitable society.

Program Options:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology
  • Minor in Sociology
