Transfer Scholarships
Å·²©ÓÎÏ·¹ÙÍø offers various scholarships geared specifically for transfer students.
Students are automatically considered for the Provost and Deans Merit Scholarships upon application for admission to Å·²©ÓÎÏ·¹ÙÍø Completion of an additional application is not necessary.
(covers one three-credit hour course for Spring 2024 or Fall 2024)
Awarded to first-time, full-time undergraduate transfer students who apply early for admission, enter in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024, and who meet the following criteria:
- Be an Illinois resident
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Have an annual adjusted gross income of $60,000 or less and family assets of $50,000 or less
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (Undocumented students may complete the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid instead of FAFSA)
- Be admitted to Å·²©ÓÎÏ·¹ÙÍø as an incoming first-time, full-time transfer student entering in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 and enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester

Awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to prospective transfer students who apply early for admission and who meet the following criteria:
- Illinois resident
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50
- Earned Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or at least 60 credit hours)
- Must enroll as a full-time student

- Earned Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or at least 60 credit hours)
- Must enroll as a full-time student
Criteria:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA and an A.A. or A.S. degree
- Student must also be a full-time resident of Illinois
- Enroll at NEIU immediately following completion of associate degree (in the fall)
- Pursuing first bachelor’s degree
- Provide a letter of recommendation from Phi Theta Kappa advisor to confirm members and active participation in college’s PTK chapter.
The scholarship covers tuition (not fees) for the first 60 credit hours at NEIU. A recipient must maintain cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and participate in the University Honors Program. The deadline to apply is June 3. The scholarship is awarded in the fall only.
